What is EFT
What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

EFT is a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues.  Simply stated, it is a unique version of acupuncture except you don't use needles. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping them with your fingertips- while you are psychologically tuned in to an issue. The process is easy to learn and can be practiced by anyone. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

And current medical research is now suggesting that….

“85% of all physical pains and diseases are caused by unresolved negative emotions.”

This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920's that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy. These ideas have been largely ignored by Western Healing Practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else will.

  • You can make enormous strides by introducing EFT into your therapy process (whether you are a professional or a client). Instead of taking months or years using conventional "talk therapy", EFT often does the job for you cleanly and thoroughly in one or two sessions ... and sometimes does it in moments. We label these latter near-instant results as "one minute wonders." Do EFT properly and you will likely experience them 50% of the time. The rest of the time, EFT has about an 80%-95% success rate- even with beginners!  EFT is currently being used by therapists, life coaches, hypnotherapists, acupuncturists, nurses, doctors, chiropractors and more.
  • Once you have seen how well EFT clears out emotional debris, your next step is to notice how physical ailments start to fade. Headaches, back pains and other discomforts tend to improve or vanish. Your vision may become clearer and everyday stress takes less toll on your system.
  • You can use EFT for just about everything. That is one of the most astonishing things about it.  You can use it for everything from chronic back pain to improved performance at work. That is why you can consider it the missing link in the pursuit of health and happiness. Once you truly recognize the Universal nature of EFT you will eagerly join the growing throng of enthusiasts. There is nothing like it, anywhere.
Use EFT for...
·         Depression/Anxiety
·         Self-Esteem
·         Performance Enhancement
·         Stress Management
·         Phobias and Common Fears
·         Weight Loss
·         Chronic or Acute Pain
·         And more…..

Specifics of EFT…….

EFT is called an Energy Psychology because it incorporates stimulating the body’s meridians, and the psychological “tuning in” of a problem.  EFT is

  • Easy to learn
  • Can be used by anyone (including children)
  • Promotes self- empowerment instead of therapist dependency
  • Can be used anywhere
  • Can be used on almost any issue
  • Produces rapid results that are obvious

An example….

John has a back ache.  On a scale of 1-10, John would describe his pain as a 10.  To begin, John will tap what is called the Karate Chop Point and repeat “Even though I have this back pain, I deeply and completely love myself”.  John will repeat this three times while tapping the Karate Chop Point.

Then he will tap the meridian points shown on the next page repeating the phrase:

“This back pain”.

1) On the Top of the Head, with fingers back-to-back down the center of the skull.

2) At the beginning of the eyebrow, just above and to one side of the nose.

3) On the bone bordering the outside corner of the eye.

4) On the bone under an eye about 1 inch below your pupil.

5) On the small area between the bottom of your nose and the top of your upper lip.

6) Midway between the point of your chin and the bottom of your lower lip.

7) The junction where the sternum (breastbone), collarbone and the first rib meet. To locate it, first place your forefinger on the U-shaped notch at the top of the breastbone (about where a man would knot his tie). From the bottom of the U, move your forefinger down toward the navel 1 inch and then go to the left (or right) 1 inch.

8) On the side of the body, at a point even with the nipple (for men) or in the middle of the bra strap (for women). It is about 4 inches below the armpit.

9) The last point is the inside of both wrists.

This process is repeated until the back pain is gone.  Incredible as it may seem, John could get complete relief in just minutes!

Similarly, the same process would be used in the case of a fear, traumatic memory, depression, stress, anxiety and more.  Only the set-up statement would be changed to reflect the issue that is being worked on.  For example, “Even though I am afraid to speak in front of groups, I deeply and completely love myself”, or “Even though I feel this anxiety right now, I deeply and completely love myself”.

EFT is safe, gentle, rapid and effective!

Important note: While EFT has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage and thus practitioners and the public must take complete responsibility for their use of it. Michelle Leuschen is not a licensed health professional, rather she holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from West Chester University. Referrals made from the referral program may or may not be to a licensed clinician. Additionally, many of the practitioners in the referral program are beginning EFT practitioners. Where appropriate, qualified physicians should be consulted.
